Key Details:
Draft & Roster Rules:
- If drafted, you are guaranteed a spot in the Grass Championship Open (GCO) but are not guaranteed future events.
- Franchises have a free agency period beginning May 1, where they can drop and add players to their 14-man roster.
- The better you perform, the more likely you are to remain on your Franchise roster
Registration Requirements:
- Qualifier slots include both players of a 2 person team
- After purchase, you will receive an email with registration details, including forms to submit detailed player and partner information. Deadline is March 20th, 2026.
- All players must also complete a Player Application ASAP on the Grass League website to ensure eligibility. If you already have a player profile you do not need to submit another application. This information will be required during registration.
Draft & Player Agreement: Players selected in the draft must sign a Player Agreement with their franchise. This agreement grants Grass League media rights for the event and allows the league to market, secure sponsorships, and drive endorsements based on a player's persona.
Commitment to the Season: If you’re entering the qualifier, it is highly recommended that you are willing and available to compete in the remaining 2026 season events (linked here). This increases your likelihood of being drafted.
Team Compensation: If drafted, your franchise controls all compensation related to your team’s performance throughout the season. All purse payouts are distributed to franchise owners. Players are eligible for compensation from the franchise depending on their professional or amateur status.
2026 Grass League Broadcasts: All events will be broadcast live on a top-tier national media platform, with additional coverage on youtube

The top 25 teams (and ties) from the qualifier will become draft eligible. Each Franchise will draft 2x 2-person teams (22 total teams drafted). This means that there will be a handful of teams that are draft eligible, but not selected by a Franchise. These teams will still be at the top of the list of free-agents and are free to sign with Franchises after the GCO.
You are guaranteed to compete in the 2026 Grass Clippings Open. Franchises have the option to drop & add players from their roster after May 1st. Draftees who are chosen by their Franchises to remain on their roster will be eligible to compete in the remaining 2026 Grass League Season events. So, be sure to clear your schedule and make sure you’re available to suit up for your squad!
Qualifiers will compete as 2-person teams. Those pairs enter the draft and are selected TOGETHER. Meaning the drafted pair will compete together in the Grass Clippings Open. After the Grass Clippings Open, the Franchises may choose to rearrange their rosters and pairs.
Teams outside of the top 25 unfortunately will not be included in the draft. However, all qualifier participants will receive passes to the Grass Clippings Open to watch the competition and enjoy the event. Those players will also remain free agents and can continue to pursue spots on Franchise rosters, and can re-enter the draft in future seasons to compete to become draftees.
All purse earnings from tournaments are distributed to the Franchises. Professional players are eligible to receive purse per the drafted player agreement. Players with amateur status are not eligible to receive payments directly from their performance on the course. However, Franchises can arrange NIL deals for their players.
